Health Clearances- Too Young

Nashthe High Country Spaniel

When Nash's owners approached me about getting a puppy they were clear of what they wanted. They wanted a Field Spaniel that would fit their active life style and they did not want a couch potato! Well I kept this in mind as the pups were growing up and it soon became evident that the red collar boy in the litter was fitting the bill to a "T". Nash has always been an endless ball of energy and needed a home life that would keep his active mind and body occupied! So we sent Nash packing for the Colorado high country.

I am sure Nash was wondering if he was sent to Narnia as the winter season in the Colorado mountains is a lot longer then most parts of the country! When spring and summer did finally arrive and this young boy was ready for adventures! During the summer months Nash joins his family on all their outdoor activities that include biking, camping and fishing to just name a few. Nash loves every moment of their adventures and can be found running on the bike path with them & swimming in the rivers. His owners state they get stopped constantly with people asking about the handsome spaniel that is at their side. Nash's easy-going attitude and charming personality makes him the center of attention where ever he goes.

In his free time Nash loves to cliff dive, attend obedience classes, & and act as a guard dog by alerting his owners when a bear is around.

UPDATE: Being good owners Nash's parent made sure they took him to obedience classes to ensure their boy would be a model citizen. They put in the time and effort in training Nash, who went on to earn his Canine Good Citizen certificate. Over the past year Nash's owners knew that he was truly a special boy and went about to find the best way to share their wonderful boy with others. With his outgoing & sweet personality Nash's true calling became apparent; That he was destined to be a therapy dog. Nash headed back to school and had to under go extensive training. It was required that he passed the therapy dog test on 3 separate occasions prior to be able to be a READER therapy dog. Nash passed each test with flying colors and quickly earned his Therapy Dog title. He has already begun his career as a Reader therapy dog and as I breeder I couldn't be more proud.

A big THANK YOU to Bill & Deb for not only giving this boy the best home but for your un-selfish act of sharing him with others who need his help.

11-27-07- This past weekend Nash's owners decided to give hunt training a try. Prior to his first official lesson he had been practicing on wings and bumpers. Well Nash was in heaven when introduced to real birds. He quickly caught onto the hunting game and proved to be a natural soft mouth. We are very proud to have yet another Killara kid out there in the fields doing what sporting dogs are meant to do. We hope Nash and his owners continue to have fun in the fields!

12-10-07 Nash earns his canine good citizen (CGC)

05-01-08 After months of training and extensive testing Nash completed his third and final Therapy Dog Test. He is now an official therapy Reader Dog. Nash helps people improve their reading skills by giving them the emotional support that they need. We are very proud  of Nash and his family!

Owned and Loved By Katauskas Family

Finn was the happy-go-lucky puppy in the litter. Nothing phased him and his gentle but playful nature made him the ideal companion for just about any home. Finn quickly became my mothers favorite as he loved to follow her through out the house and would watch her intently as she cooked in the kitchen.

There was no choice but to send Finn to live with the Kataukas family. The Kataukas have two wonderful  daughters who were thrilled to have Finn join the family. Ingrid reports that Finn's outgoing attitude continues to come shining through. As the older daughter has lots of friends there is always a stream of kids coming and going in the household. Finn greets each new face with soft eyes and a tail wag. He loves to hang out and play with the kids & everyone appreciates his company.

We are so grateful to the Kataukas family for taking such good care of Finn-and to their girls for giving this wonderful boy lots of love!
