05-16-07: Mai Tye has been having fun
in the fields! We like to introduce our pups to
different performance venues while they are babies.
So far Mai Tye has been introduced to hunting,
tracking, obedience and she has recently started
agility classes. We use the new experiences as
a way to make sure she develops into a well
socialized pup. As she gets a little older we will
cut back on some of the activities to concentrate on
2 areas of performance. But for right now she gets
to try all these new activities with no
pressure...its all for fun....
7-30-07:
Mai Tye attended her
first shows and earned back to back 5 point
majors at the a supported entry in Waukesha Wi.
This was my first time showing in bred by and my
girl showed like a pro, beating out over 10 other
girls! We are very proud of our girl as she showed
with style as she beat out older competition. Talk
about starting off her show career with a
BANG....she is truly a dream girl come true!
09-07-07: Well after
taking the summer off from tracking due to the heat
and dry conditions I wasn't sure what to expect.
When my friend told me she was heading to Lansing in
3 days to try to get her certified I asked to go
along. I was a bit worried as we hadn't been
practicing. Well my worries quickly dissipated when
Mai Tye put her nose to the ground and dragged me
down the track! She earned her certification and
received some very nice compliments from the judge!
We hope to get her in a tracking test this fall!
11-04-07: Mai Tye
attended her first TD test at Lansing Michigan. Mai
Tye sailed through her tracking at a neck breaking
pace. All said and done she completed her 465 yard
track in 4 minutes. We are VERY proud of our young
lady.
11-11-07 Mai Tye does a
repeat. We attended the Ann Arbor tracking test as
there were no alternates to take Mai Tye's place.
Well the girl once again proved that Fields can
excel at tracking. Mai Tye flew down her track and
completed 455 yards in just under 5 mins.
06-01-08 Mai Tye had a
lot of fun at the nationals. It was the first time
for the both of us for agility and she had a blast.
We knew she wasn't quite ready but wanted our first
trial to be with friends. She did have a wonderful
jumpers run but a knocked bar took away the Q from
an otherwise beautiful run. She also showed really
well in the conformation classes and always finished
in the ribbons. She just needs some time to grow up
before we venture out into the show ring again. Tye
continues to train in hunting, obedience and agility
and I wouldn't trade her for all the ribbons in the
world.
10-19-08 We headed out to Ann Arbor tracking
excellent test and came home with a new title and
smiles on our faces. Mai Tye once again gave us a
fabulous performance. At the start the girl put her
nose down and never waivered from the track.. She
completed her half mile track in under 15 minutes
leaving me, the judges and the gallery gasping as we
tried to catch our breaths. Tye just gave that
impish smile of hers with a look that said "was that
fast enough mom?".
