Winter of 2008

- From day one Marta craved attention from people. By the time she was 3 weeks old she was climbing out of the whelping box and finding her way onto the mattress that I was sleeping on. Many mornings I found the little yellow girl curled up next to me on the bed. I knew from the start that this princess in the making was definitely in need of being a daddy's girl. There was no hard decision as to which home she was destined for. Marta is Boyd's constant companion accompanying him to work, the beach and even the golf course! Marta is the center of attention where ever she goes- often stopping people in their tracks as they can't resist her sweet expression.

Although her main job is to be a princess, Marta also has the heart of a performance dog. Boyd reports that she is a smart girl who catches on easily to training. As Boyd enjoys hunting, he decided to give hunt training a try. Marta was a quick study and soon she was quartering, flushing and retrieving. On opening day Marta and Boyd bagged their first bird! Boyd reports that she is natural retriever who simply loves the water. He plans to continue to work on her hunting skills this summer as to make her a more polished huntress.
