Tessa’s strong
and determined personality was apparent since the
day she was born. This spunky girl is a fighter and
doesn’t let anything get her down. She was the bold,
confident girl in the litter who always went off on
her own to investigate and explore. It was hard to
give her up as her beautiful face and sweet
personality made her one of the favorites. Always
the last puppy to come in from outside, <which
earned her the nick name “stinky”> her mother
reports this has not changed the least bit.
When Paige was pregnant Anita approached me about
possible getting a puppy. She explained she
wanted girl that she could both show & earn the
performance titles with. As Tessa was an independent
little girl I was hesitant at first about sending
her off to Anita. I gave Anita a list of pros and
cons about each of the available girls, hoping that
she could give me a better idea as to who she felt
was the better match for her. By the time Anita
arrived to pick up her baby she walked in and
announced "I am taking my pink girl" and with that
the perfect match was made. Tessa started classes as
a pup and soon she was hitting the show ring. In a
short time she had earned multiple single points and
Best of Breeds against older competition. In the
fall of 2007 at just 10 months old Tessa walked away
with Best of Opposite in Puppy sweeps at the FSSA
National. The next day she took the 5 point major at
the supported entry trailer show.
In 2009 Tessa really started to
shine in the ring as a specials. In April of 2009
Tessa earned two Group 4 placements at just barely
over 2 years of age. As if that wasn't impressive
enough Tessa than made it to the final cut at the
FSSA 2009 National Specialty in July. By the end of
the year Tessa again earned another Group 4 placement
and went Best of Breed at the Eukanuba Championship
Show!
As this breed is slow to mature I am sure there are
MANY more wins in the future for Anita and Tessa!
Tessa is proving to be a versatile girl like her
momma Paige. She has been hard at work training in
conformation, agility and obedience. She has already
earned her Rally Advance title and is currently
working towards her Companion Dog (CD) title. She is growing
up to be a beautiful girl with lovely structure and
“fear nothing” attitude. Tessa finished
her Championship at just 1 1/2 years old and was
owner/handled for all her points by Anita! During her free time she
loves to hang out on the family’s boat with the
other 4 legged kids in the family.
In mid 2010 Tessa and Schuyler
decided to hit the road and do some serious showing.
In a short amount of time this girl was taking group
placements on a regular basis. We are looking
forward to Tessa and Schuyler's continued success in
the show ring!
