So whats a girl to do when she has a puppy that gives her "the look" that says "I know I am yours!"? Meet Friday, daughter of Tuesday, who told me she was staying. I wasn't planning on keeping a puppy from this litter but something about that black collar girl caught my attention early on. It was just the look she kept giving me. By 8 weeks I was pretty much doomed as this special girl reminded me SO much of her grandmother Mai Tye (the original do it all girl).
Little did I know that it was more than looks that were reminiscent of her grandmother. Like Mai Tye, Friday is a workaholic. We can train for an hour and upon me announcing that we are all done she refuses to leave the training room. I will admit that makes me really happy. Friday is turning out to be an extraordinary fun dog to work with. She catches on quickly to our training games and has been advancing quite quickly in her training. By 10 months of age she earned her Tracking Dog title on her first attempt. In 2019 we decided to give lure coursing a try and once again she took to it like she has always done it. Within one weekend she had earned her Coursing Ability title. That same weekend we attempted Dock Diving for the first time with her. On the very first throw of her bumper she was flying off the dock without hesitation and easily earned her dock diving novice title!
We unfortunately had to remove Friday from out breeding program due to allergies. Even though her allergies are mild and are easily controlled with medication we did not want this to be passed on to future puppies. Friday now lives with her new owner, long time Field Spaniel enthusiast, Bob Pollard. Bob has already put multiple performance titles on Friday!
