Our lovely Lily was the last girl in a litter of 11 to figure out where she was going. Carol REALLY wanted a field spaniel for competing in both the show and performance rings. I kept poor Carol waiting till pups were about 8 weeks old as Lily was on the small side. I talked to Carol about the pros and cons of Lily and in the end Carol said "if she doesn't turn out for the show ring that's fine, I still want her!"
So Lily packed her bags and headed to the frozen tundra of Alaska where she joined a pack of English Springer spaniels. From day one Carol was impressed with Lily's confidence and with how quickly she was able to learn new tasks. Lily is currently training in various performance venues that include agility, hunting and barn hunt just to name a few. Her owner reports she is a social butterfly and loves the show ring as well.
As there are very few field spaniels in Alaska Lily rarely gets to compete against other field spaniels. She did win her class at the FSSA supported entry the day after the National in 2015. There were 7 bitches in her class which for our breed that entry alone would of been a major!
Lily is already excelling at Barn hunt, scent work and a few other venues. As you can see from the alphabet soup behind her name she is quite the talented girl and is having loads of fun earning multiple titles with her owner Carol.
In the Fall of 2020 Lily's owner Carol passed away un-expectantly. We are all sadden and greatly miss Carol. Carol was a wonderful lady who's heart was filled with kindness and she loved her dogs oh so very much. Carol's good friend Susan adopted both Lily and Violet and has continued to compete with the girls in various venues.
