Masana
My girl that I fell in love with from day one. Must be something about those purple collar girls that just grab your attention. From day one this fabulous gorgeous girl picked me as her person. She was forever seeking me out and wanting to just be in my lap.
Masana initially was a little lack luster in the performance department. She was very laid back, had very little desire to chase birds and retrieving attitude was nearly zero. I decided I would work and train with her anyways because sometimes pups can be slow to get started.
Every week we worked and worked. It took a lot of encouragement for her to retrieve. We worked on tracking which is excelled at and like her littermates she earned her Tracking Certification at 5 months of age. Hunting meanwhile was slowly moving forward. While the other pups were being very enthusiastic about retrieving Masana was hesitant to do so. At six months after her adult teeth were in it was discovered that she had injured her mouth somehow as a puppy. Her adult tooth had a spot where the enamel was damage and thus causing her to have a painful mouth. Once the enamel was fixed Masana turned into a retrieving maniac!
We look forward to competing with Masana in both the performance venues as well as the show ring.
